It takes a great community to build a great community event!

Here are just a few of the letters of thanks received from various organizations over the years.

The Teresa Group

When you feel isolated and alone, the chance to connect with others can be a lifeline. At Parents Club, parents living with HIV and AIDS celebrate friendships, mourn losses, share triumphs, learn from shared experiences and build bridges from isolation to community. For many of these parents, this is the only place they feel free to speak their truth. Free of the stigma and discrimination of HIV, it is a space free of judgement and full of love. Donations from events like the Home + Style Studio Tour enable these gatherings each month, and ensure that no one is alone facing the challenges of parenting with HIV.

Mary, a mother of five who has been attending Parents Club for four years, recently shared with us what the chance to connect with other parents living with HIV means to her. There are days when I struggle and I don't think I have the energy to go. Then, I go anyway. I think about the family and safety we have created at The Teresa Group, and I know that it will be worth it. When I walk into that room, I feel stripped naked and I bare my soul, then my family helps put me back together again.

Through your generous support of The Teresa Group, you make moments like this possible, and ensure that Mary and her family always have somewhere to turn. On behalf of Mary and the 300 families who receive care from The Teresa Group each year, we thank you.

The Teresa Group

Your continued support of The Teresa Group is much appreciated. This year we have seen an increase in the number of pregnant women and our office is often filled with beautiful newborns! We have also been able to enhance our work with adolescents living with HIV in a strengthened partnership with Sick Kids Hospital.

Thanks for supporting the children!

All the best,

Toronto People With AIDS Foundation

On behalf of the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation's clients, staff, volunteers and board, please accept our heartfelt appreciation for this year's successful Home and Style Studio Tour. With funds being raised this year for PWA's services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS we are so grateful for our continued relationship with you and the show.

The generosity of community partners like you have enabled PWA in 2009/20010 to supply over 103,000 services including over 41,600 significant and unique practical support services accessed by more than 2,300 people living with HIV/AIDS. Providing important training to over 5,000 individuals, as well as over 60,000 critical referral, information and outreach interactions for close to 3,000 individuals were also important aspects of PWA's programming in 2009/2010.

PWA is so grateful to you and the Fall Home Show for your efforts on our behalf. This year's achievements are a reflection of the commitment that you've demonstrated year after year in raising critical money for local HIV/AIDS charities.

Thank you again for choosing to work with the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation for the Exclusive Access Sale at the Fall Home Show. We hope that you heard stories first hand from our volunteers, staff and clients who accessed the show through your donated tickets how much you are making a positive difference through your support of PWA.

Sincerely,

Murray Jose

Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR)

On behalf of the board and staff at CANFAR, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research, I would like to thank you for including us as the Charity of Choice for the Home & Style Studio Tour for a second year. As always, it was a pleasure to work with you on this innovative event.

Once again you planned a wonderful tour of the city’s great artists and allowed the public to become a part of the Toronto artists’ scene. The Home + Style Studio Tour is a unique event that we look forward to being a part of every year.

Thank you again for your generosity and leadership.

AIDS Committee of Toronto

On behalf of myself and the AIDS Committee of Toronto, please allow me to express our sincerest thanks to yourself and the many individuals who contributed to making the Home + Style Studio Tour such an artistic and financial success.

Every aspect of the show was first class—from the open studios and their art to the many demonstrations that surrounded this event; everything was beautifully executed and presented. I know that the work displayed in the open studios that I visited was outstanding. My friends were also very impressed with the wide range of talent that was on display.

On a personal note, I would especially like to thank you, Jeffrey for your work in ensuring the success of the Home and Style Studio Tour. Your tireless efforts to promote the show and your great work in carefully organizing every detail really paid off.

We live at the crossroads in the AIDS service movement—thanks to the new drugs, more people are now living longer. Many people believe that the drug cocktails are a cure. Let me assure you that they are not. As the same time, HIV/AIDS is spreading into new populations—particularly women, youth, and IV drug users. Thanks to your support, ACT will be able to continue to provide help to those groups hardest hit by HIV/AIDS as well as extend our outreach work to prevent the further spread of this epidemic.

Thanks again for your time, talent, and energy.

Sincerely yours,
